Couples & families

Support for the relationships that shape daily life.

Couples and family therapy can create room to slow down, understand recurring patterns, and work toward healthier communication and connection.

Couples therapy

Heather offers couples therapy tailored to the relationship’s concerns, strengths, goals, and circumstances. Sessions can help partners communicate more clearly, understand conflict patterns, express needs, and work collaboratively on meaningful changes.

Family therapy

Family sessions may focus on communication, parenting concerns, family stress, changing roles, behavioral challenges, conflict, grief, or major transitions. Heather works to make room for each person’s perspective while keeping the family’s shared goals in view.

Family involvement in a child’s care

Treatment for children may include a thoughtful mix of individual and family sessions. The balance depends on the child’s age, comfort, maturity, needs, and treatment goals. Caregiver participation can help families understand what the child is learning and support those skills outside of therapy.

Common areas of focus

  • Communication and recurring conflict
  • Parenting and caregiver stress
  • Family transitions and changing roles
  • Emotional regulation within relationships
  • Behavioral concerns affecting the family
  • Grief, trauma, or shared stress
  • Strengthening connection and practical problem-solving

Change can begin with being heard differently.
